Titanfall 2 is a fantastic first person shooter, in fact, I would strongly argue it is the best to come out this fall with a multiplayer and single player far superior to that of Battlefield 1 and Vall of Duty Infinite Warfare. However, the game has failed to make the sales of even its doomed predecessor due to its release date being smack bang in the middle of the two FPS giants.
In a recent Interview Vince Zampella, founder of Respawn Entertainment talked about the release date saying “The exact timing, we didn’t know. If the question was, ‘Would I rather have this window to myself?’ Well, of course,” he concluded. “I’m not foolish. I’m not foolish that way, anyway. In other ways, probably.”
When asked if he thought the company was getting enough support from the publisher due to Respawn being an independent company rather than an in-built studio within EA he stated “It’s always a concern. That’s what I’ll say. Especially when you have two games on top of each other.”
Zampella was the asked if he and Respawn would make a third to which he replied “We don’t know yet. The game is, critically, a huge success. We’re really happy with all the reviews and the positive sentiment. Sales, it’s too early to tell. We’d definitely like to tell more of the story and the universe. I think it’s pretty safe to assume that we’ll explore more of it. EA might have announced more. Devin?” Devin Bennett, a publicist for Electronic Arts, interjects, “What we’ve said is we’re committed to the franchise.”
“So, whatever the f*** that means.” Replied Zampella.
We highly recommend picking Titanfall 2 up especially with it on sale at many vendors for almost half of its originally price point. It’s a fantastic game with new mechanics and huge improvements over the last game.
