The first trailer seems to reveal what the gameplay is all about, with the Millennium Falcon coming under attack by Imperial Stormtroopers, players are then handed a lightsabre by R2D2 and must defend the Falcon while it prepares for take off.
“Strap on your Vive headset, take a remote in hand and let space and stars surround you.” said the developers ILMxLAB, who brings together talent from Industrial Light & Magic, Skywalker Sound, Lucasfilm’s Advanced Development Group and the Lucasfilm StoryGroup to create story-driven virtual reality experiences. “The opening crawl begins — the familiar Star Wars main theme triumphantly blaring — but this is no normal Star Wars prologue. It’s three-dimensional, you’re right on top of it. You learn that Luke Skywalker, having defeated Darth Vader and the Emperor, is looking to rebuild the Jedi Order. One hopeful Padawan is heading to Tatooine. That Padawan is you.”
