Polaris Sector is a new 4X title set in the deepest reaches of space. You’ll build an empire over the course of decades, making decisions that may only bear fruit years down the line. You’ll explore, meet new factions, and either make friends with them or conquer their territory.
What sets Polaris Sector apart from other 4X titles? First, the game plays out in real time, though you’re free to pause and issue orders at any point. You can also fully customize the loadouts of your ships, choosing exactly how many power stations and munitions stores you want as well as the exact configuration and distribution of various weapon types.
Rather than a traditional tech tree, you choose whether to focus your efforts on applied or fundamental sciences. Applied science will unlock new options that you can use right away, while fundamental science may just grant you early access to advanced tech.
