It feels like forever since Dragon Ball FighterZ was officially unveiled at this year's E3. With a January 28 release, we're certainly getting close, and a new story trailer gives us a look at the game's single-player segment.
With all the character reveals going on in the past, this is the first time we've really seen shots and footage of the game's adventure mode. Being a fighter, it looks like it won't go beyond a simple level select style - so no Budokai-esque flying around here, folks.
Our favourite fighters are falling flat, and it's likely the work of Android 21 that's causing the anomaly. Darkened clones of the fighters have sprung up around the world, too, so there's definitely a few fights already on the table.
We're not really looking at a cinematic story overview thing here, so don't expect too much emphasis on minor plotlines here. It's more an explanation of how you'll progress through 3 different story arcs while trying to figure out what exactly Android 21 and 16 are up to as outlined in one of the earlier trailers down below.
If you're looking for the usual massive lineup of playable characters, Dragon Ball FighterZ isn't going to fill that gap. Two more, Nappa and Captain Ginyu, were revealed not too long ago, but you'll likely want to stick with the Xenoverse series if you like having dozens of characters fight in a 3D space. Still, FighterZ is a gorgeous 2D brawler with a similar time-breaking story.
