Focusing mostly on weekday news, there's the occasional big announcement that slips us by. If this was double drop-rate on Legendary Diablo III items, we would have been all over it - most likely - but there's always so much going on with Rocket League that it's difficult to keep up. We're not sure where Double Painted would come into that game, though.
That's why we're making an effort to point this out now for those who might only drop into Psyonix's rocket-powered battle cars game from time to time - double drop and double paint rates are still around until the European evening rolls around.
Originally launched back in July, the event went over so well (of course) that organizers decided to bring it back for another round. Kicking off on Friday, September 1, the US Labor Day timing made for a long weekend event, meaning it stretches to Tuesday rather than giving up the ghost on a Monday like most other weekend gaming events.

A nice little send off to European kids who're going back to school this week, we can imagine the Rocket League chatbox was saltier than ever over the weekend with double drop-rates and crates flying all over the show. But don't let that deter you! Until 6pm BST today, you can count this as your last chance to rack up some extra look as all Uncommon (and higher) free customization items and the current in-play crates. What's known as the Double Painted Weekend event is also in effect, meaning you double your chances of earning a painted version of any item, too.
In case it wasn't clear, we'll repeat that in the exact terms used by the announcement post: "Your chances of earning a Painted version of an item, as a drop or from a Crate, are doubled as well". That's probably a big deal. Rocket League players seem to dig the idea of a Double Painted event more than the Double Drop event itself.
