Call of Duty: WWII came out last week on November 3 and since then players have been reporting odd issues such as trouble with Headquarters and losing Rank in multiplayer. Sledgehammer today addressed these concerns, but not in a way players might have hoped.

In Sledgehammer's Update there were two main issues addressed.
1. POOR ONLINE CONNECTIVITY, ESPECIALLY IN HEADQUARTERS
Sledgehammer acknowledged "players experiencing mixed online connectivity across all platforms". To fix this they've essentially turned off Headquarters. HQ was supposed to be a social hub where players could hang out before a match and compare loadouts etc. At the moment though Sledgehammer have set it to Solo Mode, eliminating the need for it altogether. They say "Headquarters will return to its fully-populated, shared experience shortly" as will Leaderboards, which are also turned off right now - although they are still apparently remembering your score for when they get turned back on.
2. PLAYERS LOSING RANK IN CORE MULTIPLAYER PROGRESSION
Players lost rank in MP progression. Fortunately there is a fix up already for this. Sledgehammer say that "the vast majority lost 5 or fewer levels", meaning that there were players that lost more. Beyond the fix though there is nothing Sledgehammer can do but say they're sorry. "We are committed to making it up to the affected players" they say.
As of today Activision and Sledgehammer have rolled out server improvements, but HQ is still set to Solo meaning that the Daily Orders rewards can't be accessed. Both of these were heavily featured in Activision's advertising, so it's a little annoying that on launch weekend the "dynamic social hub" HQ is essentially useless.
Nevertheless launch sales of Call of Duty WW2 are up 57% from Infinite Warfare, so Activision must be happy.
