It's difficult not to lose count of its efforts at this point, but Lawbreakers is getting yet another free weekend. If you're looking for a new shooter or just have nothing planned for this week, it might be worth giving a shot.
With player numbers barely budging during a 'Play with the Devs' session last week, Boss Key Productions have turned the key yet again to activate another chance for would-be players to give the game a chance without having to fork out £25 for a dead multiplayer shooter.
Reaching a peak of 45 concurrent players over the last 24 hours, Lawbreakers has what you could call a 'devoted fanbase'. There aren't many players left in the lobbies, but they're always around to start a match or two. We have to suspect some of these are the developers playing their own game, of course, but that's hardly a bad thing.
Cliffy B Explains How Lawbreakers Can Still Be Saved
Starting a little early on November 9, Steam users can download and play the zero-G arena shooter for free until November 12. As evident from new promotional posters, the marketing team really have done away with the deadface logo designer Cliff Bleszinski outlined as one of the title's numerous shortcomings.
Understanding the need to focus on characters in the Overwatch age, we can see Sunshine basking in the spotlight as their new mascot. Users have also reported a clear shift in the game's social media presence, too.
Throughout the free weekend you can pick up a copy of the game for half-price should the playerbase climb high enough to not feel like a wasteland. Having released just a few short months ago, the last free weekend (that we noticed) was just over a month ago now. We wish it the best of luck, but it's no easy feat staying relevant as a shooter with PUBG, Counter-Strike and Overwatch attracting a crowd. The holiday season certainly doesn't help, either.
