Co-op first person melee shooter Warhammer End Times Vermintide has received a new public test version. Developers Fatshark have now deployed the 1.6 'Lorebook' update for players to test out on the public test servers.The new update adds in the Lorebook feature that allows players to search for pages in all levels to complete the new lorebook located in the red moon inn.
The new patch is 12Gb and contains not only the new lorebook feature but fixes a host of bugs and issues currently faced by players. Fatshark are eager to have players test the patch and so have also allowed player's progression to carry over to the live game from the public test so that players do not go unrewarded.
The full patch notes are fairly extensive and have fixed many complaints by the community. Read them below:

*Resolved an issue where the Rat Ogre would get killed if pushed into walls by explosions

*Adjusted pinning distance on torso actors to reduce intersection problems.

*Horn of Magnus: Fix for cases where player hot joins a game at the end event and spawns outside the area
*Khazid Kro: Fixed bug causing machine sounds and shaking to continue after middle event
*Khazid Kro: Players no longer able to get stuck on crates at a specific location (Storeroom)
*Khazid Kro has had part of the ceiling repaired
*Red Moon Inn: Made the outline for the shrine encompass the entire altar, and not only the book
*Red Moon Inn: Removed a cup that kept falling into the lorebook!
*Summoner’s Peak: Fixed floating rope prop
*Supply & Demand: Fixed exploit
*Changed Sword and Dagger sweeping heavy attack from 3 to 2 targets
*Fixed a bug with the Rapier charged attack would not reach charge level 2 (piercing an extra rat and having added knockback) when charging the attack fully
*Increased damage on Longbow and Trueflight charged attack against unarmoured enemies
*Reduced Ogre damage on a lot of weapons, most notable:
- 1h Axe light attack
- 2h Hammer light attack
- Glaive heavy attack
*Increased Ogre damage on a lot of weapons, most notable:
- 1h sword light attacks
- Crossbows (Note: Regular Crossbow, Not Volley Crossbow)
- Warpick charged level 2 attack
*Reduced Fireball staff charged ball damage (The damage now follows a curve which rewards charging the ball to it's max level)
*Reduced Fireball staff charged ball damage against armoured enemies
*Tweaked Conflagration staff damage (focused more of the damage in the inner part of the AoE, also reduced flame patch damage)
*Tweaked dot damage applications to be more consistent (The dot damage applications were bugged and very polarised where your dots either did a lot of damage or barely any damage, should now work more consistently)
*Increased Bolt staff charged attack head shot multiplier while reducing damage output, effectively lowering damage on all hits after the first target
*Increased dual wield daggers blocking move speed from 85 to 90%
*Reduced dual wield swords and sword/dagger blocking movespeed from 95% to 85%
*Added buffer to all push chain actions to remove accidental double pushes

1. Right-click Vermintide in your Steam Library
2. Click on Properties
3. Click on Betas
4. In the drop-down menu, select the branch named "publictest"
5. Download and play!
