After no more than 8 months in Early Access, Endless Space 2 is just about ready for full release. But content is needed to celebrate the feat; the eight major faction is coming. It may be hard to imagine the idea of sentient trees in your space-based 4X strategy title, but that's exactly what'll appear on May 19.

Known as 'The Unfallen', the name of these tree-people just keeps toying with the rather amusing metaphor. Designed from the ground up through suggestions made by the Endless Space community, The Unfallen represents the culmination of the Early Access phase and all that was achieved through the joint efforts of the developers and players.

Rather than hoping to pave their way and secure a future through combat and conquering, The Unfallen aim to achieve victory through a 'slow and steady' non-violent approach. They're peacekeepers through and through. By maintaining control of their homeworld, the Unfallen expand their branches to other colonies providing benefits to those they befriend while awakening a planet's dormant 'Guardian' to deal with those that threaten their existence. The race was designed piece-by-piece through the Games2Gether fan community typically used for Amplitude Studios to connect with their biggest fans. The visuals, narrative and gameplay are all a product of that cooperation and trust. If you're looking to get into Endless Space 2, it's best to buy into the Early Access version before the price shoots up on the May 19 full release.
