Injustice 2, the DC Comics fighting game from Mortal Kombat creators Netherrealm, is one of the best games of the year - but it took a good 6 months for it to reach PC. It's by no means a crummy port, but it's most definitely not a perfect one.
We were initially concerned that the PC would have its support dropped immediately, as what happened with previous Netherrealm titles Mortal Kombat X and Injustice: Gods Among Us, but that doesn't look like it'll be the case with Injustice 2 fortunately. Which is good because we loved it, saying in our review:
"Combat is satisfying and is just as accessible to casual fans as professionals, and there’s an absolute wealth of content both online and offline that could keep you playing forever. The story mode is an absolute blast, with fun writing, acting and amazing facial animation, and sports a far better villain than the Justice League movie... Injustice 2 is by far the best fighting game this year, and may very well be the best fighting game on PC."
We'll be here to chronicle all the patches the game gets.
Enchantress Update January 16 2018
After the Justice League movie Multiverse challenges were implemented Injustice 2 was fully, completely up-to-date with the console version of the game. Now Netherrealm and Warner Bros are continuing that as the Enchantress DLC and the latest patch brings the PC version on-par with the console experience. Enchantress is a defensive fighter with long and short range attacks and a lot of powers to mess with her opponent. Next month though brings the Heroes In A Half Shell...
The Atom Update - December 19 2017
In a surprisingly quick turnaround, Netherrealm have updated Injustice 2 again to include The Atom, who made his debut on consoles for general release today. With his release and this patch, Injustice 2 on PC is now completely up-to-date with the console versions of the game! Hooray! We've also been promised more Multiverse challenges will be added with this patch... dare we hope the Justice League movie challenges will be among them?
The Hellboy Update - December 12 2017
The first patch for Injustice 2 implements a lot of the more recent changes to the console version, as well as adding two major missing features the PC had: the Mobile Link, and Hellboy! Hellboy is the first non-DC comic book character in the series and he's a huge blast to play. The Mobile Link function was a key feature for the console release, as it allows a link-up with the (free) Injustice 2 mobile version - which grants bonuses to both versions and, most importantly, unlocks the Grid character as a "Premier Skin" for Cyborg.
