From releasing its third major update just a few weeks ago to heading into its full release, Endless Space 2 has finally reached maturity. It's heading out of Early Access in just a month's time.
Announcing the long-awaited news through the game's Steam News channel, the team at Amplitude selected a Friday release day - even going so far as to suggest you alter your weekend plans. But who plans weekends 4 weeks in advance?
With the final release of Endless Space 2, the cost of picking up a copy will change - a typical move for an Early Access title. Jumping the gun right now and leading up to the release day means you'll be able to snag a copy for 25% off its eventual price point with the cost jumping from 26.24 to £34.99 on May 19. Though those already sitting on a Standard Edition copy will be given the opportunity to upgrade to the Digital Deluxe Edition for another £11 or so. That part's live now.

Likely having something to do with them company wanting to announce the finalised release date for some time would be the logistics of its now confirmed physical edition. If you see yourself as a 4X collector with a large shelf somewhere, you'll be able to pick up a boxed copy on release. Coming in a sleek black sleeve, you'll get a copy of the game, a double-sided A3 poster and an 'exclusive origin story'. There's no special edition OST bundle here.
Endless Space 2 has spent months in Early Access while trickling out entirely new factions as it goes. Now feature complete, it won't be the end of its long update process - but it will be the end of its current discount/a>.
