Ready to take what's likely to be your last tour of combat before the big day? Pre-loading for Ghost Recon: Wildlands is up and running.
Running on a fresh new build, we're looking at a weighty 23-24GB install for the upcoming Open Beta test set to kick off this Thursday, February 23. If you kept hold of the Closed Beat, however, you're looking at something a little more manageable. It's 19.51GB. Good for you.
With the game servers remaining operational until Monday, February 27, that's a good 4-5 days worth of thourough stress testing for Ubisoft and more than half a week of GTA-style antics for everyone else. For those who have yet to try out their open-world shooter, it turns to hell pretty quickly with a full group of 4. Especially if they're colour-blind.
Unlike the previous test, however, this one will play out more similarly to the Steep Open Beta by being issued through Steam alongside Uplay. Knowing full-well not everyone wants to having yet another marketplace installed on their system, it's nice to have the freedom. For those who took part in the closed beta, this one will have both the Itacua and Montuyoc provinces ready to be explored. That's one more than last time, and just two of the 21 included in the full version.
If you're looking to double-dip and have a full Ghost Recon: Wildlands weekend, remember to take a look at the interactive map-based game available through your browser at the same time. It'll earn you some rewards in the full game if you're already sold on the whole concept.
