Teased through their Twitter account just one day before, Humble Bundle said that they'd have a "special" bundle coming soon after. It arrived, but its worth is probably up for debate.
The use of the eyebrows raised emoji was both crude yet alluring when they teased the news, but we're not sure which part of the day's announcements we'd really assign it to. The 'John Wick' bundle, or the Best of 2016 encore sale in the store.
Teaming up for some kind of promotion to celebrate the release of John Wick: Chapter 2 early next month, US residents can grab their cinema tickets through the tie-in, whereas for most others, it's more or less a cheap way of picking up Payday 2 with a couple of DLC masks. Split into multiple pricing tiers, the usually 'Pay What You Want' deal nets you a basic copy of Payday 2, 'The Bomb Heists' DLC, Lycanwulf and The One Below masks and a John Wick weapon pack. Further tiers are similar - giving out more dlc 'Dead by Daylight' and, eventually, a copy of the movie and cinema tickets for the sequel (US only). There's a pre-order for the John Wick VR game, but that would be useless to quite a few of Humble's regular customers.
So, situational at best, we could argue that the 'very special' bundle came in the form of the Winter Encore sale in the store. Most of the big-name games that saw a price cut back before the Holidays are relatively cheap yet again. Rocket League, Homefront, Dark Souls and Street Fighter V are all up there - best you take a look for yourself.
So what do you think? What's better; a bundle of DLC for Payday 2, or lots of what you do want at slashed prices?
