Good news for Stardew Valley fans: the game’s long-awaited multiplayer beta has finally arrived. This 1.3 update will be released first to Steam users, then GOG players later in the week.
With the updates, your friends can now join an existing game, via an in-game co-op menu. Each of the player’s farms can now hold up to 3 friends, but the player will need to construct a cabin for each friend first.
To be able to play the multiplayer portion, the player and their friends all require the same version of the game. The benefits of having friends in your game with you include helping you farm, fish, forage, mine, and slay monsters. Your friends can also attend seasonal festivals with you, and you can chat using text and Stardew Valley emojis.
Other additions 1.3 brings to the game include hats, horses, more cut scenes, as well as a new 3-day winter festival.
