Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment have announced that The Division 2 is in development. More on the game will be revealed at E3 2018.
Furthermore, the developer have also announced that there will be 2 more title updates for The Division, including new Global Events, more Legendary difficulty missions, and achievements to unlock rewards in the sequel.
Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft revealed the news, along with this information on all the developers working on the game:
"We’re thrilled to announce that we are working on Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, and that development will be led by Massive Entertainment in collaboration with Ubisoft Reflections, Red Storm Entertainment, Ubisoft Annecy, Ubisoft Shanghai and Ubisoft Bucharest. The Division 2 will be powered by an updated version of the Snowdrop engine that enables us to realize our ambitions for the sequel, but more importantly, we’re also taking everything we learned over the past two years and applying it towards the sequel to make sure we get it right."
There will be two more Title Updates with Global Events and Legendary difficulty missions, and in June 2018 (alongside the full reveal at E3) Massive will introduce 'Shields', which are achievements that will unlock rewards in The Division 2 when that releases.
