Far Cry 5 from Ubisoft, the latest game in the popular shooter series, is out now - and like previous games Far Cry 3 and 4, players only start with two weapons - and a further two weapons slot can be unlocked. Unlike those games however, in Far Cry 5 you can't unlock those slots by hunting animals and crafting. In fact it's a little confusing.
So let your pals at GameWatcher help you out with our Far Cry 5 Guide on How To Get More Weapon Slots!
Far Cry 5 Starting Weapons
After the initial scene when the game begins proper, you'll have access to the following weapon slots:
Far Cry 5 How To Unlock More Weapons Slots
Weapon Slot 3 can be unlocked by buying the 'Additional Holster' Perk, seen above, in the Prepper type of the Perks menu. It costs a very expensive 8 Perk Points, but is certainly worth it. Check out our Perks Guide on how to get Perk Points quickly.
While it costs a lot, despite its position on the Perks page remember that Far Cry 5 doesn't have a linear unlock tree - so the moment you have 8 Perk Points you can unlock it straight away.
Weapon Slot 4 is more complicated. You'll need to have drawn out and defeated one of main villain Joseph Seed's brothers or sisters to get it. It's recommended that you head to take on John Seed first at Fall's End in Holland Valley. You'll need to scout around the area, doing side quests, liberating outposts, and building up the Resistance level, and when that's done John Seed will challenge you.
Defeat him and you still won't immediately get the 4th Weapon Slot - it'll just be unlocked in your Perks menu. The 'Weapon Collector' Perk will give you the next Weapon Slot, and it costs a further 9 Perk Points, so hopefully you have them all saved up by this point.
