Savior is an upcoming action-adventure title from developer Starsoft Entertainment, home to former LucasArts, Sierra Skywalker Sound employees, and publisher Leadman Games which was revealed today through a short announcement trailer.
Melding together parkour, RPG elements and melee combat, the title focuses on a world in conflict as two people of different creeds fight against each other. It's up to the player, who steps in the shoes of protagonist Sam, to put an end to the conflict, and stabbing things with pointy objects won't be the only available choice.
Savior Reveal
"We wanted to build on the 2D platformers we loved growing up, and add more player investment in the world and its people. Where the spearman you just fought wasn’t just a faceless foe. The woman you just saved was his mom, and the next time you see him, he’ll be grateful, not aggressive. We want to make a world where you can convince the soldier you just fought to join your cause. Where knowing an NPCs favorite food is as useful as a quiver of arrows.”, project lead Weston Tracy said about Savior.
As players use Sam's parkour abilities to explore Arcadia, they meet the Fallen and the Chosen - the two warring factions. While the skill-based combat and arsenal of weaponry are sure to find its role, players can also engage others in "strategic banter", thus building trust.
Savior will offer an array of unlockable skills alongside secrets that, when uncovered, reveal more about the world. While the title doesn't yet have a release date, you can take a first look at some gameplay in its announcement trailer just below.
