Age of Wonders 4 has quietly been one of the best 4X games you can buy nowadays and one of Paradox’s biggest wins for a while now, so it’s not surprising a third expansion pass is here. Get ready for the Thrones of Blood DLC and more.
Players can grab Expansion Pass 3 for $49.99 to gain access to the vampire-centric expansion releasing in November 11 as well as the minor Cosmic Wanderer pack available immediately that adds “the Empire of the Cosmos trait that rewards Godir who aspire mastery of all the affinities” plus new attire and weaponry. Two other major DLCs, Rise from Ruin and Secrets of the Archmages are included in the pass, releasing Q1 and Q2 2026 respectively.

- Three New Tomes which, unsurprisingly, allow you to drain enemies, buff allies, and convert damage into power.
- New Narrative Content that goes into the “birth of all vampire-kind” and quest chains which promise to be slightly spooky.
- New Map Features like the Sunless Lands, gothic Ancient Wonders and Landmarks, and a new “magic-infused Blood Glass” material.
- New Wildlife Units that most players will find disgusting, such as hordes of undead, huge maggots, and “so many bats.”
- New Music, Interface Skin, Realm Options, “and more”
If you only want to grab Thrones of Blood for now, its suggested price tag hasn’t been revealed yet. For now, we’re just annoyed the blood-sucking rulers won’t arrive in time for Halloween.
