Developer Seismic Squirrel has revealed its decopunk alt-history RPG Aether & Iron will be heading to PC in Spring of this year.
The narrative-driven RPG takes place in an alternate 1930s New York that’s been transformed into a ‘vertical city’ following the discovery of anti-gravitational technology. The change isn’t for the greater good though, as the divide between classes has literally grown with the rich building into the sky.
Aether & Iron Smuggles Onto PC Soon
The noir-flavored premise is the backdrop for you to become a smuggler, living the underground life, and getting into turn-based vehicular combat as you escape the authorities.
You’ll be able to customize and upgrade your fleet of aether-powered vehicles with weapons and armor, and recruit unique companions to watch your back, each armed with talents that can make all the difference.
This is a narrative-driven RPG, so your choices shape not just your path, but the city’s fate as well.
If the premise is tantalizing, there’s a demo for Aether & Iron on Steam right now.
