Apex Legends is currently experiencing its worst server problem to date. The game's latest patch, Apex Legends Update 1.1, has completely broken player progression, reverting all their unlocks and purchases entirely.
Apex Legends Account Reset Bug has apparently beset virtually all players who've logged in post-patch, and as of now, developers haven't been able to fix it. Read what we know about this mess down below.
Respawn Entertainment representative posted an official announcement on Reddit not an hour ago at the time of writing which says that progression loss after Update 1.1 is a known and recognised problem, and that developers are already attempting to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.
What this bug does is that it wipes your account clean - meaning loss of skins, progression, and virtually everything you've accomplished in Apex Legends since you've started playing the game. Not a thing to be messing with, especially with the number of people who've spent good money on the game already.
"We are going to start turning off servers as we do maintenance and we'll be updating this post with info as we look into this," said Respawn right before the servers went down. Some half an hour later, another update was posted: "Until we have the issue resolved we recommend you do not buy or craft anything. We're working to give you folks an ETA."
As of now, there's been no further updates, but stay tuned for more as Respawn reaches out.
Apex Legends Update 1.1 Patch Notes</h2>
This patch is - aside from the progression issue itself - mostly focused on deploying a number of long-awaited quality-of-life features, such as the ability to keep playing with the squad you've already played with. This will allow you to see the people you played your last match with, as well as to match up with them once more.
1.1 also introduces various UI improvements, and bug fixes, though all of this will remain overshadowed by the bug we've explained above.
