Assassin's Creed Odyssey is shaping up to be a rather magnificent release, all things considered. Set in Ancient Greece, this game is going to explore a setting we don't often get to see in the medium, and which has never before been rendered with such vividity and attention to detail.
This makes the game's Exploration Mode all the more important! For the first time in what feels like a lifetime, Ubisoft are finally content with allowing players to play Assassin's Creed without there always being a hand of god leading them from one point of interest to another.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey will feature both 'Guided', and 'Exploration' modes of play, each of which will offer a different sort of experience of playing the game. Players opting to play Odyssey in Guided mode will get pretty much what we've come to know and expect from AC, with map markers and automatic quest objectives.
Exploration mode, on the other hand, will offer a stripped-back version of the game in regard to UI, where players will have to manually seek out objectives by exploring and interacting with the world, without objective markers and the like. Existing alongside this feature, albeit as a fully separate mode, will be Discovery , same as it was in Origins.
