Where can you find the Baldur's Gate 3 Auntie Ethel Hag boss location in Larian Studios' latest RPG? How difficult is it to reach?
Baldur's Gate 3 plays host to quite a few tough encounters and the Auntie Ethel Hag boss counts among them. If you're looking to complete them all, you'll want to know her location.
The first spot in which you’ll encounter Auntie Ethel is found south of Blighted Town. Her Hag status won't be immediately clear, as she’ll be in human form, confronted by two people accusing her of taking their sister Mayrina away. This conversation can lead to starting a quest to save the girl.

Depending on how the conversation goes, you’ll either end up fighting the two men or seeing Baldur's Gate 3's Auntie Ethel teleport away using magic.
Continue heading forward on the path. The map will tell you that you’re nearing the Sunlit Wetlands but your character will sense that they’re being watched.
Depending on an Investigation/Arcana check, the mood of the environment can drastically shift.
Regardless of whether that happens or not, stick to the right side and you should soon spot the Riverside Teahouse on your map.
That happens to be the Baldur's Gate 3 Auntie Ethel Hag boss location, so you'll want to move towards it.
Open its shabby wooden doors and inside you’ll find Auntie Ethel once more, only this time she has Mayrina with her.
Telling Mayrina that Auntie Ethel killed her brothers automatically initiates the boss fight. This, from what we can tell, is the quickest way to reach it.
Just be warned that, regardless of when you fight her, Auntie Ethel is a strong opponent. It's best to come prepared – ideally with your party leveled up to the max.
If you choose not to initiate the fight, Auntie will either remain there or teleport away alongside Mayrina.
Not far from the entrance, you’ll spot a fireplace. Approaching it initiates a passive check that, if successful, reveals it as an illusion.
You should also be able to just move past the fireplace by panning the camera to reveal the space behind it and clicking on the ground.
Take the stairs to reach the Overgrown Tunnel and you should be on your way to another potential Baldur's Gate 3 Auntie Ethel Hag boss location.
In the tunnel, you'll see what Auntie Ethel is up to. She’ll also confront you in her true Hag form, telling you to leave before disappearing again.
Channel your inner mule and move forward, then to the left. You should easily see the Gnarled Door. On the table to its right wait four Whispering Masks.
You cannot lockpick the door but you can initiate a conversation, leading to an Intimidation or Persuasion check, should you insist on getting past it.
If you fail both checks, you have two other options left to reach BG3's Auntie Ethel Hag boss location.
Either simply pan the camera as you did with the fireplace and move through – the door is an illusion –, or use the Whispering Masks.
Be careful, though, as equipping them will put your characters at constant risk of being controlled by Auntie Ethel as long as the masks stay on. If you choose this option, moving fast is key.
Past the Gnarled Door, you'll have to fight four masked enemies. The tighter space made this a rather tricky battle for us but some trial and error will see you through. Move forward and you should spot a waterfall.
Jump through it to the other side and you'll find yourself facing a gas cloud. You'll actually have to deal with a few on your way down. You can set them on fire, then put out the fire using a water source or spell.
Alternatively, you can perform some riskier jumps. Just take your time and look around the room.
When you reach the bottom, you'll enter the Ancient Abode which acts as the final Baldur's Gate 3 Auntie Ethel Hag boss location.
