When does Battlefield 6 Season 2 begin? What are the latest news on the content coming with it? This is what we know so far.
Following the full reveal of Battlefield 6’s first season of content, most diehards of the long-running military FPS series are feeling more satisfied when it comes to the large-scale maps which make the systems and mechanics shine, yet many are also wondering about what lies beyond and into 2026.
According to the S1 reveal, EA and Battlefield Studios aim to put new playable content into the game each month, ramping up the support Battlefield 2042 had already seen despite its very rocky launch in late 2021. With more studios and developers now tasked with pushing the Battlefield franchise into a new era and EA facing a period of uncertainty following a private buyout, it comes as no surprise BF6’s post-launch plans are so ambitious.
Battlefield 6 Season 2 Release Date - Start & End Times
With Season 1 set to start its third phase/month of content, Winter Offensive, in early December, chances are we’ll get Season 2 in early-to-mid January. We don’t have official word on the timing the powers that be are targeting right now, and chances are we won’t learn about it until late December at the earliest.
- Battlefield 6 Season 2 Release Window: January 2026
Of course, the second post-launch season could always hit a delay after the long Christmas break, but it’s looking like EA and Battlefield Studios don’t want much of a gap between content drops. Stay tuned for the latest news on this front.
Battlefield 6 Season 2 Content
There’s no official word (or solid leaks) yet on what’s coming with Season 2, but there’s a good chance some of the leaked multiplayer maps will make their way into the game sooner rather than later. In fact, two out of Season 1’s three maps were part of the leaks.
Also, looking at how Season 1 was built around the theme of a North American offensive, we wouldn’t be surprised if the upcoming maps belong to a single country/setting too. The buzz going around suggests naval combat and vehicles are coming soon-ish, so perhaps a return to Gibraltar with more open coastal maps is on the cards.
