When does Battlefield 6 Season 2 begin? What are the latest news on the content coming with it? This is what we know so far about the first BF6 season of 2026.
Following a stellar launch (despite the usual technical woes) and the arrival of Season 1 with a free-to-play battle royale component, most diehards of the long-running military FPS series are feeling more satisfied when it comes to the large-scale destruction that makes the systems and mechanics shine, yet many are wondering about what lies beyond. It’s 2026 now, and that means BF6 is primed to enter its second season of post-launch content.
Following S1’s mostly successful run, EA and Battlefield Studios aim to put new playable content into the game each month, ramping up the kind of support Battlefield 2042 had seen before despite its rocky launch in late 2021. With more studios and developers now tasked with pushing the revived Battlefield franchise into a new era and EA facing a period of uncertainty following a private buyout, it comes as no surprise BF6’s post-launch plans are so ambitious.
Battlefield 6 Season 2 Release Date - Start & End Times
Season 1 started its third phase/month of content, Winter Offensive, in early December, so we thought Season 2 would arrive in early-to-mid January. However, we now know it’s been pushed an entire month (sorry) to better address heated player feedback before dropping more meaty content into the game.
- Battlefield 6 Season 2 release date: February 17, 2026
So far, it’s looking like EA and Battlefield Studios don’t want much of a gap between content drops, but they’re not afraid of changing the plans if the community demands a healthier core game experience.
