Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 received its second Battle Overview trailer today, further detailing the ways in which battles can be won and how a map's terrain can end up affecting battles.
Tearing enemy ships to shreds using weaponry, or the sheer weight of your ships, is one way to go about obtaining victory, but lowering a crew's morale also does the job. This is done by teleporting your own troops on an enemy's bridge, attacking them with specific weapons or simply destroying their allies. Should the situation become too dire, captains can ignore orders in an attempt to flee.
Targeting a ship's crew can also reduce its effectiveness or disable it, which turns it into a sitting duck waiting to be destroyed or even reclaimed.
The Battle Overview Part 2 trailer reveals that each faction will get its specific admiral skills to use in battles. Necrons have the ability of teleporting their entire fleet to a specific point on the map, while Tyranid ships can hook enemies with their tentacles and pull them in, thus blocking their escape.
The first Battlefleet Gothic: Armada's maps had their share of debris, mines and gas clouds to cloak ships, and the sequel looks to bring things up a notch. Players can expect to encounter plasma storms, asteroid strikes or giant lumbering beasts migrating right through the middle of the warzone.
Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2's Battle Overview Part 2 trailer, which you'll find below, launched at the same time as the game's first pre-order beta which ends on December 12. Check out our coverage of our first Battle Overview trailer in case you missed it.
