MinMax Games has updated the demo for its upcoming colony sim Clanfolk with a staggering amount of tweaks, improvements, and new content ahead of the game’s Early Access launch this Spring.
Clanfolk is inspired by the likes of Rimworld and sees players taking control of their own Scottish clan during Medieval times, growing it in the face of mounting adversity as a harsh Winter looms.
During the game’s demo phase, members of the developer’s Discord group have been providing feedback on what is and isn’t working for them, and MinMax has been hard at work for five months implementing the necessary changes before committing to a full launch. As a result the demo now features even more content than ever before.
Among the changes is a new world-building tool that allocates points to decide the number of mountains, grassland, wildlife, and lakes that will show up on a map. There’s also the option to create custom clans with their own individual quirks showing up as they grow older.
That’s the tip of the iceberg, however, as there’s improved and consistent art and character design, plus new clothing, clans, items, objects, and contextual options for every tile. You can see more on the Clanfolk Steam page.
That’s a pretty impressive update for a game that isn’t even in Early Access, and clearly puts it in a good place for when that does happen at some point this Spring.
