Online co-op horror games continue to come and go, but with hits like Phasmophobia breaking through the noise from time to time and going strong, it comes as no surprise indie studios are releasing more of them into Steam Early Access. Now, it’s time for dinosaurs to scare and bite into players in Deathground.
After several closed playtests and a relatively quiet marketing campaign, Jaw Drop Games’ long-in-development co-op survival horror title is launching today, October 7, with a sensible price tag of $14.99 (with an extra launch discount on top). No console versions have been announced yet, as the game is expected to stay in early access for 8-12 months.

Deathground throws up to 4 players into “a desperate fight for survival against deadly dinosaurs” as they explore an abandoned research compound and complete a set of missions before trying to successfully extract. The developers are promising plenty of violence and jump scares. This ain’t no walk in the park.
On top of the release date reveal and the trailer we’ve just shared, Jaw Drop Games is also giving everyone looking to jump into Deathground an extensive look at the planned content roadmap:
The team’s being quite transparent about the amount of content available at early access launch, but it seems the near future will bring a number of improvements and many more hungry dinos to evade and missions to complete, among other things.
Let’s just hope the community is large enough to support this one in the long run, as we’d love to have a meaner dinosaur video game than Frontier’s ambitious park management sim Jurassic World Evolution 3 in our late 2025 rotation. But don’t worry too much, as single-player runs are also supported.
