Crimson Moon’s release date sees us donning the armor of a Nephilim warrior tasked with reclaiming the fallen city of Gildenarch district by district. Described as a “gothic, high renaissance action-adventure RPG” by publisher and developer ProbablyMonsters, the title was formally unveiled during February 2026’s State of Play, when we got our first look at its gory, intense battles.
As a human-angel hybrid serving the Order of the Crimson Moon, it’s up to us to push back the forces of the demonic Infernal Legion that has claimed the city for itself.
Crimson Moon Release Date
Upon unveiling Crimson Moon, ProbablyMonsters confirmed that the action-adventure RPG was in the final stage of development, aiming for a late 2026 release date.

Crimson Moon Gameplay
Our struggle to reclaim the city of Gildenarch from its occupiers follows a familiar structure, each run starting from the Sanctus Clypeus, the hub area where we can adjust our build, forge new weapons and armor, and decide where we strike next.
Crimson Moon focuses on “improvisational and expressive combat” that “combines high-stakes encounters and evolving challenges.”
There’s a bevy of enemies to battle, both large and small, and we can challenge them both alone and in co-op alongside a friend. The latter option comes with dynamic difficulty scaling that ensures each run stays challenging.
In co-op, we can “share lives, resurrect the fallen, and unlock synergies,” although the developer does stress that playing solo is just as viable.
As we mow down scores of opponents, cleansing the fallen city, we gradually get closer to “a winner-take-all confrontation with the sinister vampire lord, Solomon Moore, the architect of Gildenarch’s demise.”
Crimson Moon Price and Platforms
Crimson Moon’s price has yet to be revealed. As far as platforms go, it is slated to release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
