Code Vein is the latest Dark Souls-like out now, and it's a fun slice of tricky vampire action RPG. With Dark Souls, part of the appeal is being able to play the whole game again in New Game+ mode - harder and different than before. The important question is then, does Code Vein have New Game Plus?
New Game Plus is a key part of the Souls-like experience then, but there's a big question over whether there is a Code Vein New Game Plus mode or not, for people who want to play the game again. Let's have a look.
Does Code Vein have New Game Plus mode?
The reason why New Game Plus is so key to the Dark Souls experience is that it completely changes the game. You get to replay all the levels but with all your gear from your previous run - and with a much more challenging experience. It essentially gives you another game to play.
Code Vein, it must be said, did not launch with a New Game Plus mode - which is why there is this question about whether the replay option is in the game at all.
However, we have very good news - Code Vein New Game Plus was added in the game's 1.02 patch! So if you're reading this now, rest assured - Code Vein does have a New Game Plus mode!
When you reach the end of the game, you can choose to continue your current save, begin a normal New Game Plus, or do a New Game Plus at a higher difficulty level. The patch basically just added the following:
Which is more than enough! So if Code Vein didn't challenge you as much as Dark Souls did, how about leaving the companion in the Home Base and sticking on New Game Plus mode in highest difficulty? That should be enough of a challenge for anyone.
