Publisher and developer Funcom has announced a free weekend for its open-world survival crafting game Dune: Awakening, coinciding with the launch of the title’s Chapter 2 update and Lost Harvest DLC.
Dune: Awakening’s free weekend is slated to start on September 11, ending four days later, on September 15. New players jumping in will benefit from “zero restrictions on content,” so you can potentially experience everything Arrakis has to offer, provided you’ve enough hours to explore the iconic arid planet.

Similarly, there is no time limit restricting play sessions, while all progress will carry over to the full game, should you decide to purchase it later.
It’s also possible to play alongside friends who might have already started their search for Spice by picking the same world/sietch.
Furthermore, anyone who plays Dune: Awakening during this free weekend, including existing owners, will receive the Arrakis Rising decoration – pictured at the top of this article – that expands the collection of murals you can place around your base.
Between September 11 and September 22, Dune: Awakening will also be discounted by 20%.
Two days before its free weekend stars, the Chapter 2 update brings new story content, contracts, more dynamic encounters, as well as five new armor sets.
The Lost Harvest DLC, included in the season pass, introduces a standalone storyline revolving around a Trading Guild carryall that has been shot down and its valuable cargo alongside the Treadwheel vehicle, a set of cosmetic items, and more.
