EA offers illuminating low prices for its library of games for its Lunar New Year sale on Steam.
Juggernaut gaming series such as Star Wars, Dead Space, Dragon Age, The Sims, and many more have been deeply discounted, providing a great opportunity to build up that backlog you definitely reduced over the festive period.
With a publisher the size of EA, it’s a ‘where to start?’ kind of sale. The usual suspects are all there, but we’ll get into a few of the lesser lights among the highlights as well.
EA Lunar New Year Sale Highlights
On the Star Wars front, we have the excellent Jedi Survivor at a whopping 88% off, which means you can get it for just £7.19. hell, throw in its predecessor for £2.79, and you can have two of the best modern Star Wars games for a tenner!
There’s also the underappreciated Squadrons at 90% off if you fancy adding to that neat little stack of Star Wars action.
Keeping it sci-fi, the Mass Effect series offers plenty of epic space adventure, and you can partake in a sizeable chunk of them in the Mass Effect Legendary Edition collection. The whole Commander Shepard saga in 4K UHD glory for a measly £7.49? Ridiculously good value.
If you’re after grimmer sci-fi stories, there’s no better (worse?) place to be than in the company of Isaac Clarke and the Dead Space series. The 2023 remake is only £9.99 right now, but if you fancy keeping it old school, the original version and is equels are also available at discounted prices. The best one is, of course, Dead Space 2, and if you don’t believe me, go buy it for £3.59, play it, and tell me I’m wrong (I won’t be wrong).
If you fancy recapturing the 90s glory days of Command & Conquer, the Remastered Collection of the first game and Red Alert is 70% off, and the original versions of all the Command & Conquer games are bundled together for just £6.40 too.
Let’s round out with a few other gems going dirt cheap. Alice: Madness Returns remains a striking action adventure, and it’s only £2.24.
Dragon Age Origins is still highly regarded to this day, and at under seven pounds for the Ultimate Edition, you can find out for yourself at a very reasonable price.
The Dungeon Keeper games were PC Tactics RPG icons back in the day. So to be able to buy both for just under five pounds in total is devilishly good value.
Finally, if you only have a pound to spend and you want maximum joy from your purchase, then you simply must purchase a copy of Peggle. It remains one of the most satisfying puzzlers of the 21st Century.
