A new first-person survival horror game in which you have to fight (and run away from) dinosaurs has entered the fray. Silent Hunt is coming to Steam in late 2026.
What starts as a simple investigation following too many strange disappearances and deaths in British Columbia soon becomes a fight for survival as one police officer comes into contact with nature’s most formidable land predators: carnivore dinosaurs!
Of course, the announcement trailer (which you can watch below) doesn’t explain why or how the hell a Dilophosaurus is terrorizing a present-day island community. Still, Silent Hunt will have a good, twisty explanation hiding in the shadows.
This first look at the game, which still has a long road ahead as solo dev Studio Baron Rouge aims for a Q4 2026 launch, is more of a mood setter. With a heavier emphasis on detective work and exploration, stealth and action are utilized more sparsely, or at least that’s what we’re being led to believe.
As far as we know, only a PC (Steam) release is planned at the moment, with the developer promising regular updates as often as possible via social media channels. Considering the somewhat ambitious scope of this survival horror game and the amount of work ahead, the indie horror community could help Silent Hunt become a little sensation similar to countless first-person horror games that made up for a lack of resources with neat ideas and solid scares. We’ll be keeping tabs on this one. We recommend you wishlist it on Steam!
