Tense Games looks to combine the best elements of the likes of Command & Conquer and Starcraft with its RTS game Fractured Alliance.
The classics-inspired RTS sees players embark on an epic journey through the theater of strategic warfare with a modern, accessible narrative adventure element to balance the needs of players of the classic RTS games with those newer to the genre.
Fractured Alliance: Warfare for All?
The game is set in an alternative reality where the Cold War persists in the modern day. The conflict escalated into a global-scale war, and each of the factions is fighting for control to establish world domination. The gameplay revolves around harvesting resources across diverse terrains, capturing nodes that influence production, and making the most of each battlefield’s unique topography.
It will include a story-driven single player campaign, co-op modes, 2v2, and 4v4 skirmish maps. The game includes a competitive scene to face players in 1v1 battles to see who’s the best general out there.
RTS fans can be picky about modern takes on the genre, so it’s bold for the developer of Fractured Alliance to embrace the idea of reviving the joys of the classics as a selling point. It will be interesting to see how it balances the old with the new.
The game is due to release in 2026, and you can wishlist the game on Steam now.
