Life found a way in Jurassic World Evolution 3, a game we’ve been absolutely loving, and now Frontier Developments isn’t slowing down. On December 9, the Wetlands Pack DLC and Update 1.2 are coming.
After a brief teaser released on December 2 and the reveal of all three new dinosaur species arriving to the game with the first paid DLC pack, Frontier has released more details on all the new animals and the extra features coming with Update 1.2 at no extra cost. But first of all, check out the latest trailer here:
The Wetlands Pack brings three new prehistoric family units into the game. Plus, “hundreds of bayou & swamp inspired scenery pieces” are being added; those work perfectly in tandem with the new swamp brush added via the game’s 1.2 patch on the same day for everyone.
The Irritator is a large “semi-aquatic spinosaurid from the early Cretaceous period” which park managers who enjoy building enclosures full of deep water will particularly enjoy. These large animals can both eat fish and hunt down small creatures, including other dinos.
Another species that loves swampy enclosures is the Austroraptor, which will be “often seen skulking around fish feeders.” It’s a feathered carnivore from the late Cretaceous era and “a larger relative of the Velociraptor,” so it’s plenty scary despite its surprising diet and bird-like looks!
Last but not least, the Hypsilophodon family units are bringing more cuteness into the game. This peaceful species arrives from the early Cretaceous era, and should be a nice addition to any humid enclosure full of larger herbivores.
While we wait for news on the fourth species (free to all players) coming on December 9 with Update 1.2, check out more screenshots, including a proper look at some of the new scenery pieces, below:
