Publisher and developer Stardock Entertainment today unveiled Galactic Civilization 4’s Expansion Pass 2, a bundle of 5 DLC packs for the sci-fi 4X strategy game that add a plethora of new features over the next few years.
The first DLC included in GalCiv4’s Expansion Pass 2, titled Tales of the Terran Alliance, is slated to release on December 4, 2025. It explores “humanity’s tumultuous 23rd century” alongside the conflicts that would go to shape the Terran Alliance into a veritable galactic power.

We’ll get a taste of humanity’s interstellar expansion while exploring “the political intrigue, technological breakthroughs, and military conflicts that forged humanity’s place among the stars,” including the Xendar War.
Below, you’ll find a list of key features for Galactic Civilizations 4’s Tales of the Terran Alliance DLC, as detailed by the publisher in an emailed press release:
- Play as the Xendar: Experience the civilization that shaped humanity’s first interstellar war.
- New Human Technology Tree: A unique tech progression designed specifically for the Terran Alliance.
- Expanded Human Story Events: Encounter new narrative events that explore the origins, politics, and ambitions of humanity’s interstellar expansion.
- New Planetary Improvements, Weapons, and Defenses: Build and equip your worlds and fleets with Human-focused advancements.
- Additional Ship Components: Enhance your ships with new modules tailored to Human strategies.
Galactic Civilizations 4’s Expansion Pass 2 promises four other pieces of DLC, two of them releasing in 2026, with the final two coming our way in 2027.
Next year, the Federations & Empires DLC enables the formation of governments, elections, agents, and more.
Following it, the Ascension DLC allows us to uplift minor civilizations, genetically modify our own species, as well as build breeding programs.
Galactic Civilzation 4’s Expansion Pass 2 continues into 2027 with the Hegemon DLC, which introduces client states, united planets, as well as several new major civilizations uplifted from minor status.
Finally, the Underworld DLC challenges us to “navigate the shadowy realm of criminal syndicates and black markets.”
Galactic Civilizations 4’s Tales of the Terran Alliance DLC releases on December 4, 2025, for the price of $14.99 or your regional equivalent.
It is also included in GalCiv4’s Expansion Pass 2, which goes live on the same day and offers access to all five DLCs at a discounted price.
