Horizon Hunters Gathering’s release date brings us the next chapter in Guerilla’s acclaimed post-apocalyptic series, which sees the developer taking its first proper steps towards exploring co-op territory.
Although it departs from the sprawling single-player open-world structure of the first two games and embraces a more stylized art direction, Hunters Gathering still pits us against the iconic machine beasts that set the series apart from its peers.
Horizon Hunters Gathering Release Date
Horizon Hunters Gathering was revealed in early 2026 but does not currently have a release date. Playtests were confirmed to take place after its official reveal, but it might be a while before we can team up with friends to hunt machines

Horizon Hunters Gathering Gameplay
Gameplay-wise, Horizon Hunters Gathering “centers around challenging and replayable hunts,” pitting a team of up to three players controlling “uniquely skilled Hunters” against a variety of machine beasts.
Each hunter boasts “distinct melee or ranged playstyles and weapons,” while “select Hunter roles further embedded with a rogue-lite perk system to craft the build that best suits your style and your team.”
Two game modes have been confirmed so far. Machine Incursion sees us fending off waves of machines that emerge from underground gateways before facing “a formidable boss.”
Cauldron Descent, is described as “a longer, multi-stage trial in which ever-changing rooms push Hunters to their limits, from brutal machine encounters to hidden doors that promise power and reward for teams prepared to open them.”
When Horizon Hunters Gathering releases, we’ll get to explore four environments, each with its own atmosphere and challenges. In between hunts, we return to the hub area named Hunters Gathering, where we can rest, socialize, and prepare.
Horizon Hunters Gathering Price and Platforms
Horizon Hunters Gathering’s price has yet to be revealed, but we do know that it is currently in development for both PC and PS5.
