Sandbox game Hytale spruces up after its successful Early Access launch with a new hotfix patch.
The game by Hypixel Studios has had a long, rollercoaster journey since its days as an offshoot of the developer’s mini-game Minecraft server. It was ditched by Riot Games last year, but the original founder, Simon “hypixel” Collins-Laflamme, repurchased it and rebirthed it as a project in November of 2025.
Yesterday, it was finally released in Early Access on PC, and naturally, that brought some teething troubles. Thus, a hotfix was quickly deployed to address some of the easier-to-solve issues, while others will be addressed in due time.
Hytale Hotfix Patch Notes
Connectivity
- Added message after server boot if authentication is required.
- Client now switches to offline mode when session becomes invalid.
Stability
- Fixed a crash that could occur when selecting certain hair styles followed by eyebrows in character creation.
- Fixed a crash when taking screenshots for people with non-English folder names.
- Fixed an issue preventing our Norwegian friends from launching the game.
- Fixed a crash when using buckets. This broke some workbenches, they will need to be destroyed and placed back down to resolve the issue.
- Preventing left mouse button from being bound to some actions.
- General stability improvements.
Launcher
- Added a warning to inform players if their computer time is out of date. This fixes certain authentication issues.
- Fixed an authentication issue that happened sporadically when logging in.
Services
- Patched a vulnerability that allowed players to spoof their username. (purely visual)
- Improved caching of game patches globally.
- Improved email sending service to handle larger volumes of emails.
Hytale blends the freedom of a sandbox with the momentum of an RPG. Players can explore a procedurally generated world full of dungeons, secrets, and a variety of creatures, then shape it block by block.
The game is currently available in Early Access on Windows, Mac, and Linux. Other platforms will be added at a later date.
