Icarus: Dangerous Horizons Expansion’s release date brings us a new slate of content for the popular survival game, “rising close to what we would do with a sequel,” according to developer RocketWerkz.
Its “substantial” amount of paid extra content, detailed below, accompanies the free Kepler update, which introduces a new tech tier, alongside fresh equipment, building sets, and other goodies.

Icarus: Dangerous Horizons Expansion Gameplay
The Icarus: Dangerous Horizons Expansion expands the survival game through a series of notable gameplay additions.
Its new “full-size” map, Elysium, sees us exploring the freshly-added geothermal biome as well as radioactive areas and a new NPC encampment.
We can also expect a series of new missions, “including a core narrative chain, side quest chains with unique unlocks and more.”
More than 35 new creatures and hostile NPCs roam across Elysium, while a new world boss waits to challenge both our combat and survival skills in Icarus: Dangerous Horizons Expansion.
To better navigate the landscape and evade foes, we can rely on new mounts, “including two types of lethal Raptors, and three new tamable creatures, all with their own talent trees and abilities.”
Elysium also allows us to obtain tier 5 gear that utilizes the lithium and ruby resources. We’ll also be able to collect uranium, a new meta resource that must first be processed into rods before being sent back to orbit.
Finally, we get to discover five new species of crop that each have their own associated food recipes. They can also be cultivated on both Elysium and other maps.
