UPDATED: 12th January, 2021 - King Arthur: Knight’s Tale’s Early Access release delayed to January 26.
Earlier in December, publisher and developer NeocoreGames announced that King Arthur: Knight’s Tale was headed to Steam Early Access in January, following a successful Kickstarter campaign. Initially, the title was aiming for a January 12 release.
On that very date, the developer delayed the launch for an additional two weeks. Eager fans will now be able to step into King Arthur: Knight’s Tale’s dark fantasy world on January 26, which is when the turn-based tactics RPG’s new Steam Early Access release date is set to occur.
King Arthur: Knight's Tale Steam Early Access Release Date
“In the past few weeks, we here at NeocoreGames have been working on delivering the Early Access version of King Arthur: Knight’s Tale. We’re very nearly there. However, there are still a few bumps to iron out, and as a result we’ve taken the decision to push back the Early Access release of King Arthur: Knight’s Tale by a few days,” the developer said in an emailed press release.
“While we are aware that Early Access is called that name for a reason, we want to ensure everything is polished and bugs are squashed before you begin your adventure in Avalon, and we need to a little more time to do that.”
NeocoreGames opted for Early Access because it can “work hand in hand with our players and implement changes to the game as we go, based on the feedback we receive from the community.”
The developer aims to keep King Arthur: Knight’s Tale in Steam Early Access “for a few months”, during which time it will provide regular content updates.
The title will then go on to release on PC in Q1 2021, with Xbox Series X/S and PS5 versions coming later this year.
Announced last year, Neocore’s next project mixes XCOM-style grid-based battles with RPG and kingdom management elements.
