Publisher and developer Bungie is currently investigating reports of Marathon Weasel error codes that are stopping players from reliably connecting to the game’s servers and setting off to scavenge their way across Tau Ceti IV.
Marathon Weasel error code thus claims its spot as one of the first notable issues causing trouble for Bungie’s extraction shooter shortly after its launch, which drew a sizeable crowd.
Marathon Weasel Error Code
“We are investigating issues causing Marathon players to encounter WEASEL error codes,” the developer wrote on X, formerly Twitter, confirming it is aware of the issue and working on a fix. “More information will be provided when available.”
A look at the extraction shooter’s dedicated support page describes this issue as “an all-encompassing error message that is usually an indicator that you are experiencing a general networking issue. “
In rare cases, Marathon’s Weasel error code can appear as a result of the following three scenarios occurring:
- Logging in on multiple platforms simultaneously.
- While logged in on one platform, attempting to log in on a separate platform.
- If a player is in an activity when a ban is applied to their account, they will be returned to the title screen with a WEASEL error.
Error codes are, unfortunately, par for the course for any online game launch, especially one that draws more than 80,000 players on PC alone, and we’ll likely see more of them over the course of the coming weeks and months.
Hopefully, it won’t be too long before Bungie delivers a fix for Marathon’s Weasel Error code.
