Minecraft Dungeons will soon open its gates to eager adventurers in search of loot. Like with other dungeon crawlers, some players will want to battle alongside friends and are likely wondering whether Minecraft Dungeons is crossplay supported?
Here’s everything you need to know about Minecraft Dungeons crossplay and whether or not cross-platform support will be available at launch.
Minecraft Dungeons Crossplay
“At launch you´ll be able to play online multiplayer with players on the same platform. Our goal is to let everyone play together regardless of platform, and we’re looking forward to enabling cross-platform play in a future free game update. Save files and game progress do not transfer across platforms.”, reads a page on the Minecraft Help Center website.
Simply put, Minecraft Dungeons crossplay won’t be available at launch, players only being able to team up with others on the same platform.
Cross-play support should, however, be enabled in one of Minecraft Dungeon’s free updates. While it does involve a bit of waiting, this is when you’ll be able to team up with others across different platforms.
We’ll keep an eye out and update this post with new details regarding Minecraft Dungeons crossplay and cross-platform support as soon as we spot them.
Minecraft Dungeons is set to launch on May 26 on PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
