Few people would argue that Monster Hunter: World is content-wise, or perhaps mechanically a bad game. It is a fully-fledged, fully-realised premium Monster Hunter title, with all of the perks that this might entail. It does, however, have a number of issues in its PC iteration.
In fact, Monster Hunter: World's PC port is so poorly conceived that it currently has a rating of about 6/10 on Steam, with only 48% of the game's reviews sitting at a positive denomination. Reviewers cite severe frame rate issues, CPU spikes, and constant losses of connection (even while playing solo).
Since release, Capcom has tackled some of the issues head-on, while others remain unattended as of yet. A particular one - that of players getting randomly disconnected - has been directly addressed, and the developers now have a good idea of what's the cause of the problem in the first place.
"We have been receiving numerous reports that players are experiencing connection errors after every several times they depart on quests. We are currently investigating the cause of this and are working with Valve to resolve the issue as soon as possible."
Capcom promises to look into the problems and hope to have it fixed as soon as possible, and hopefully this will be just one of the first steps towards making Monster Hunter: World run as well - or better - on PC as it already does on consoles.
