Laysara: Summit Kingdom is a distinct city builder that’s been slowly but steadily growing in Steam Early Access, flying under most radars but pleasing enjoyers of chill and cozy management sims with gorgeous vistas. Now, it’s finally approaching its 1.0 launch with a surprise console release to boot.
On October 28, publisher Future Friends Games and developer Quite OK Games revealed the game will hit PS4/5, Xbox One & Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch when it opens its gates to visitors outside of the early access period. No date yet, but we’ve been told to expect more news soon. For now, enjoy this new trailer:
“Laysara: Summit Kingdom is a challenging city builder focusing on resource management, the economy and surviving despite the inhospitable environment. Build and expand your settlements in the high mountains in either a campaign or sandbox playthrough. Carefully plan your production chains, trade networks and avalanche survival strategies to satisfy the needs of your citizens (and yaks) and make the Kingdom of Laysara thrive!”
Via Steam, we’ve learned a bit more about what’s planned for the 1.0 launch, with the developers confirming the planned campaign is now fully done, complete with a mix of sandbox, scenarios, and challenges. At the same time, new characters are being introduced to guide the player through the story, plus it’s been teased a number of much-needed QoL tweaks and additions are coming with the full release.
We’re left eagerly waiting for more news on the release date front and the full patch notes, but this one’s looking like a big winner and a breath of fresh air for the genre.
