Outward doesn’t beat around the bush when it comes to survival. As beautiful as Aurai can be, it’s also a deadly place that will murder you in an instant. That’s why, it’s a good idea to look towards increasing both your damage output and resistances. If you’re having trouble with Decay damage, the Outward Possessed Boon is quite handy to have.
Here’s where to find the Outward Possessed Boon

While the Outward Possessed Boon isn’t the hardest buff to obtain, it’s not exactly waiting for you in the open. In order to get closer to it, you’ll have to find the Immaculate’s Cave. Given how it’s an unmarked location, you’ll have to trust your gut, or just continue reading this guide here.
You’ll find one Immaculate’s Cave in each region. Perhaps the easiest one to reach is the one in Chersonese. From Cierzo, you’ll want to follow the road, keeping to its right side until you reach the northernmost spot in the purple area where three roads intersect. Nearby, between two fences, you should find a sign that reads “South-West: Vendavel Fortress, North-West Cierzo Village”. From there, turn East and you should spot a stone archway in the distance. Cross the purple field heading towards it, go through the large iron gates and you should immediately see the entrance to the Immaculate’s Cave. Head inside to obtain the Outward Possessed Boon.
Once inside, you’ll encounter the Immaculate who’s peacefully reading. interact with him and select the “Can you help me?” dialogue option. From the resulting choices, select “I need power.”, then “Teach it to me, please.”. After a moment, the screen will briefly turn black and you should find the Outward Possessed Boon in your Skills menu, under the Active Skills tab.
The Outward Possessed Boon increases your Decay Damage and Decay Resistance by 20% but requires 8 mana to be used. It’s also worth keeping in mind that if you join the Holy Mission faction, the Immaculate will refuse to talk to you or might even become hostile.
If you picked something else in Chersonese but still want to get your hands on the Outward Possessed Boon, you’ll have to look for the Immaculate all over again. In Hallowed Marsh, look for him around the southernmost island along the maps center. More specifically, it’s the cluster of islands connected by a multitude of natural bridges. You’ll find the cave at sea level on the southernmost beaches of the central landmass, in an area with wooden walkways.
If you’re looking for the Outward Possessed Boon in Enmerkar Forest, you’ll want to head to the Old Mill to the southwest that’s marked on your map. Stand at its entrance and look to the south. You should see some stairs and two pillars. Head towards them and you’ll find the zone’s Immaculate Cave.
As for Abrassar, the Outward Possessed Boon is located to the south, near the giant hives. More specifically, you’ll find it here, as spotted by Reddit user DilaZirK.
