Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader has low-key (or high-key depending on who you ask) been one of the biggest CRPG surprises of the last few years, so the announcement of a Nintendo Switch 2 port is a very welcome surprise. Plus, Owlcat Games has also revealed the Dark Heresy open alpha will be hitting before the end of the year.
The news arrived yesterday as part of the latest IGN Fan Fest, with the press release stating Rogue Trader is coming to Switch 2 “soon” but not defining a release window. This isn’t the only way to enjoy the hit story-rich CRPG on a handheld, as it’s a perfect fit on the Steam Deck and other portable PCs, but the opportunity to have a native handheld version is an exciting one, and we can’t wait to see how it takes advantage of Nintendo’s impressive piece of hardware.
As for WH40K: Dark Heresy, it’s uncommon to see a single-player oriented (with an online co-op option, yes) game get open tests before launch, but getting a massive CRPG in front of diehard players early is a good way to work most issues out before release, and we wish this happened more often. More news on this front are coming soon, as the alpha test will be out before Q4 2025 ends. Alongside the reveal, a brief new trailer was shared:
Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy is set to release in 2026 on PC (Steam), PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
