Path of Exile 2’s 0.4.0 update is “on track” to release in early December, publisher and developer Grinding Gear Games have confirmed. The currently active Rise of the Abyssal league is also slated to end “in a few weeks.”
Path of Exile 2’s developer has committed to releasing a new major update for its action RPG every four months, adopting a more flexible approach to the content included in these patches in order to get them out into the wild.
Path of Exile 2 0.4.0 Patch “on track” for Early December Release
Although its features have yet to be officially revealed, there is a chance that we’ll finally get the Druid as a playable class, provided the team behind the game has worked through the issues that stopped the character from being introduced in the 0.3.0 update.
It’s also possible that the developer will introduce further changes to Path of Exile 2’s endgame system in update 0.4.0, following those added a few months ago, which could also influence how players pursue PoE 2 currency during high-level progression.
Details about PoE2’s 0.4.0 reveal livestream and release date will be shared “very soon,” the developer noted.
This also means that the current league, Rise of the Abyssal, is ending fairly soon, so if you have any characters to chase, loot to level, or bosses to kill, it might be a good idea to hurry up.
Once it ends, your characters and their items will be migrated to the Standard or Hardcore Early Access league, where you can continue playing them.
With Path of Exile 2’s 0.4.0 patch going live in early December, there’ll be plenty of hacking and slashing to do over the holidays.
If you haven’t warmed up to the sequel’s slower pace, the original Path of Exile also recently received a new league that’s well worth checking out.
