Publisher and developer Grinding Gear Games has revealed a series of changes it plans to implement to Path of Exile 2’s Fate of the Vaal league with tomorrow’s patch 0.4.0c, in an effort to improve endgame rewards obtained while running temples.
Although delving into Vaal temples early on can provide opportunities to obtain better leveling gear via crafting, interacting with the PoE2’s Fate of the Vaal league mechanic during the later stages of the game currently feels unrewarding when compared to all the other options available.
Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.4.0c
To address this, Grinding Gear Games aims to deploy the following set of changes when Path of Exile 2’s update 0.4.0c goes live tomorrow:
- We are approximately doubling the values on existing modifiers applied to the temple at all room tiers.
- The Spymaster, Golem Works and Thaumaturge rooms apply bonuses to other specific room types in the temple.
- The Corruption Chamber room at Tier III now also adds a Corrupted Abomination to the Temple.
- The Spymaster room at Tier III now also adds an Unchained Beast to Temple.
- The Golem Works room at Tier III now also adds a Royal Sentinel to the Temple.
- The Generator room at Tier III now also adds a Royal Colossus to the Temple.
- The Sacrificial Chamber room at Tier III now also adds a High Priest to the Temple.
- The Thaumaturge room at Tier III now also adds a Quadrilla Sergeant to the Temple.
- The Alchemy Lab room at Tier III now also increases Gold Found.
- The Treasure Vault room now also adds 25% Rarity of Items dropped to the Temple.
Furthermore, after completing act 3 of the campaign, exalted, Vaal, and alchemy crafting benches inside the temple will allow us to take their associated currency.
Two new medallions will also be introduced. One adds “random Waystone Modifiers to your temple that last for 10 Temple runs, allowing you to make it more difficult and rewarding,” while another allows us to reroll the rooms we can place and hopefully get better choices when building our temple’s layout.
Several other changes coming in PoE2’s 0.4.0c patch aim to reduce the amount of progress lost when defeating the Architect:
- Halving the number of rooms that are removed when defeating the Architect.
- Allowing Reward rooms placed from the Architect’s Console to connect to any other adjacent room, not just paths, making them easier to claim.
- Allowing the Architect to connect to any other adjacent room
- The Tablet Research Vault room crafting outcomes can no longer destroy Tablets.
- The Uniques Vault room now excludes more common uniques as the level of the Temple increases.
- The Extraction Chamber is now significantly rarer, and you cannot get offered more than one of these at the Console Table.
Lastly, the Fate of the Vaal encounters that occur outside of the temple will now receive item chests. During the campaign they will be magic, but endgame chests can be either magic or rare.
Other changes are also planned for Path of Exile 2’s 0.4.0c update, but we’ll have to wait for tomorrow’s patch notes to discover their effects.
