Phasmophobia's voice chat not working issue has been a nuisance for players since launch, disconnecting them from the voice server as soon as they load into a level.
Voice chat not working is less than ideal in any co-op game, let alone in Phasmophobia, which uses voice commands to obtain information that's vital for its ghost hunts.
But is there a fix for Phasmophobia's mic not working or are players doomed to reconnect to games until they get rid of it? We've got answers.
Phasmophobia Voice Chat Not Working Fix
Developer Kinetic Games is aware of the Phasmophobia mic not working issue. A few days ago, it pushed an update to the game's beta branch that was said to remedy things.
On September 28, the game's second update brought changes to "the Server and Voice Server code to hopefully prevent crashes, client timeouts and voice disconnects."
If you're still running into it, some players have successfully avoided Phasmophobia's voice chat not working issue by closing Discord before starting the game or verifying its files.
Alternatively, players whose mic is not working in Phasmophobia can give some of the fixes proposed in this thread a try.
As the title has just begun its stay in Early Access, bugs and issues like this are bound to occur. We'll keep an eye out for more potential fixes and workarounds and update this article as we learn more.
