Hand-drawn point-and-click adventure series GOBLiiNS is back with a fresh dose of Gallic buffonery in GOBLiiNS6.
The 2D game is a direct follow-up to 1992’s GOBLiiNS2, with that game’s original writer returning.
In a troubled world of war and magic, the two returning adventurers, Fingus and Winkle, set out again in search of King Angoulafre’s son, Prince Buffoon. The characters face numerous puzzles; they work together, and each has their own inventory.
GOBLiiNS King in Point-and-Click Once More
There are 16 levels, which developer and artist Pierre Gilhodes claims will feature plenty of puzzles, characters, music, and humor in an adventure designed for all ages. The game will feature both French and English versions
The original GOBLiiNS was released in 1991 for PC, Mac, Amiga, and Atari ST, with two sequels released in 1992 and 1993. The original trio of characters would return for a 2009 fourth entry in 3D before reverting back to the classic 2D for 2023’s GOBLiiNS5: The Morgloton Invasion.
The games have long had a tradition of not having a game over, making them accessible and forgiving for point-and-click newcomers.
There’s currently no release date for GOBLiiNS6, but it’s now listed on Steam.
