It’s not just the established big hitters doing well for Capcom, as it has announced its brand new game series, Pragmata, has achieved a significant milestone at launch.
The single-player sci-fi action game received positive reviews ahead of its launch last Friday, and that, coupled with a demo for the game, seems to have created another winner for the Japanese publisher and developer.
Capcom revealed Pragmata had sold over one million units across PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC in just two days. A pretty impressive number for any game, let alone one without an established game series or IP license behind it.
Pragmata Shoots for the Moon
Pragmata sees Hugh Williams, a spacefaring engineer, team up with an android child he names Diana to battle a hostile space station AI and ultimately return to Earth.
The gameplay of Pragmata utilizes Hugh’s gun-wielding chops and a nifty jetpack to defeat the robot menace, while Diana can hack the robots to reveal weak points. The hook is that this all takes place in real-time, so you need to keep engaging the enemy as Hugh while solving the hacking puzzle as Diana.
2026 is already proving to be another successful year for Capcom, having already seen a record-breaking launch for Resident Evil: Requiem. The emergence of a new potential series in Pragmata is the icing on the cake.
