Reanimal’s release date sees developer Tarsier Studios bringing its own brand of side-scrolling horror adventure to a new universe while attempting to tread new ground within the formula it helped establish with Little Nightmares.
If the dark environments steeped in thick atmosphere alongside its mysterious, towering enemies might offer a dose of familiarity, the inclusion of co-op support, paired with a duo of voiced protagonists, both aim to nudge things towards a new direction.
Reanimal Release Date
Reanimal has locked in its release date to sometime during Q1 2026. Although this means we won’t get to play it over the holidays, it’s good knowing that we don’t have all that much left to wait until we can see what Tarsier Studios has been cooking.

Reanimal Gameplay
From a gameplay perspective, Reanimal should feel quite familiar to anyone who’s played the studio’s previous output, although there are some notable differences.
Although it has fixed-camera sections that harken back to the side-scrolling focus of Little Nightmares, Reanimal makes more use of its 3D environments. In addition, its brother and sister protagonist duo are voiced.
Their efforts to rescue their missing friends see them traveling both on land and across water, using a boat. As they navigate interior and exterior environments, some more decrepit than others, they encounter towering, mysterious enemies that they need to evade or outsmart.
Stealth continues to play a role in Reanimal’s gameplay, as do environmental puzzles, which we’ll need to solve in order to progress. Although the title is fully playable in single-player, it also allows us to bring a friend on the journey and brave its horrors in co-op.
Reanimal Price and Platforms
Reanimal is set to release on PC, via Steam, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. Its price has yet to be revealed, but we should learn more about it as we get closer to its launch.
